2021 Champions League

The 2020–21 UEFA Champions League was the 66th season of Europe's premier club football tournament organized by UEFA, and the 29th season since it was renamed from the European Champion Clubs' Cup to the UEFA Champions League. The final was played at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto, Portugal, between English clubs Manchester City and Chelsea. Chelsea won 1–0 for their second title in the competition.

Our road to the final began in the group stage, where we were drawn alongside Sevilla, Krasnodar and Rennes. We topped the group with five wins from six games, scoring 12 goals and conceding just three. In the round of 16 we faced Atletico Madrid, winning 3-0 on aggregate thanks to goals from Timo Werner, Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud.

In the quarters we beat Porto 2-1 on aggregate, both games played in Seville, and prior to that we impressively defeated the Spanish champions Atletico Madrid 3-0 over two legs. Olivier Giroud had lit up the 'away' win - contested in Bucharest - with a spectacular bicycle kick.

In the semi-final we faced Real Madrid, the most successful club in the competition's history. A first-leg win in Seville thanks to a Christian Pulisic goal was followed by a 2-0 victory in the second leg, with goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount sending us to the final.

The final against Manchester City was a tight affair, with both teams creating chances but unable to find a breakthrough until late in the game. Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute, latching onto a through ball from Mason Mount and calmly slotting it past Ederson to secure Chelsea's second Champions League title.
